About the New England Triton Association
The New England Triton Association (NETA) was founded in 1976 by longtime Triton owner Bill Bell. NETA was conceived to provide owner-driven support for the maintenance and enjoyment of Tritons, which were then—and continue to be—an active and passionate class. Designed by Carl Alberg in the late 1950s, the pedigreed Pearson Triton has since gained a cult following in the boating community, coupled with a rich class history and some fun folklore surrounding the boat's conception and construction.
Despite
occasional fluctuations in class interest, NETA has persevered
through the years, and we continue today in our refined
role as Triton records keepers, archivists for documentation
of the rich Triton history, and as dynamic hosts of an
active online presence. Through our website, we seek
to continue our humble mission for many years to come.
Under current leadership, NETA has expanded its membership base to extend open arms of welcome to Triton owners nationwide. We encourage you to join and register with us, regardless of your location. Membership is absolutely free, and by registering with us on our convenient online form, you ensure that your boat will be cataloged to maintain her place in history. NETA is a member-supported community, and we encourage members to take it upon their own volition to organize small local events, perhaps only encompassing two or three local boats, and to thereby continue the longstanding Triton tradition of fun gatherings. On occasion, and with your support, we will organize more significant, regional meetings, but we can't do this without your help and participation.
NETA
also encourages you to submit photos, cruising or sailing
stories, or ongoing maintenance or improvement projects.
We would also like to request that you consider allowing
NETA to archive any historical documentation you might
have regarding Tritons: older Improvement Bulletins,
original paperwork, and so forth. This information may
be of interest to the Triton community as a whole, so
if you'd like to temporarily lend your precious materials
to us, we will scan them and eventually make these materials
available online through our website, where they can be
viewed by all. Please send your submissions to submissions@pearsontriton.com.
Please enjoy our website, and take a moment to view our member listings to ensure that your boat is listed—and if not, why not fill in the registration form now? With your continued support and participation, NETA will ensure that the Triton class will remain strong with a vital online community.
