New main and Dutchman self-flaking system. Can raise and douse the main from the cockpit. Cut the boom a foot shorter to help with weather helm. First major project was to remove the top of the foredeck and remove all the balsa core, replacing it with epoxy, then matt, roving, matt, etc. Replace top skin.

hull 89 Temerarious
Milford, CT
"Temerarious"...hull # 89 the First West Coast Triton Built in Sausalito CA in 1960. She now resides in Milford CT at Caswell Cove Marina. She is [reported as] the heaviest Triton built, weighing in at approximately 10,000 pounds. As the first West Coast built, they over built her and the hull below the water line is 3 inches in many places, also additional ballast was added to cope with the windy waters off San Francisco. In the summer 2007 she was newly awlgripped a midnight blue color. I have chosen to keep her original 1960 interior...but she has a 2GM Yanmar as auxillary propulsion.

She caught fire in 1965 and the burned boat was eventually bought by James Higgins, who painstakingly rebuilt her. Relaunched in 1967, she was named "Sandpiper" and remains that today. For pictures of the boat and her sailing adventures, you need to do nothing more than go to the Chesapeake Bay Triton Fleet website at http://cbtf.info.
